Well, you are making this assumption without even bothering to read the Ministry’s statement issued via PIB which I have attached. Which is ok. I think nobody defending the stupidity has cared to read the statement either. https://t.co/iZAA0zKdKi

So blind is the faith of the defenders of the faith that they have no compunctions defending bunk. Worse, bunk from a babu-turned-mantri who helped manufacture Congress’s “Saffron Terror” myth and actively propagated it. Sadness unqualified.

Please stop complaining. As defenders of the faith will tell you, it is your duty to stop consuming power. https://t.co/ripu1Lfqbn

But but but... 'Minimum Government' promised to make India power surplus through 'Maximum Governance' by 2019. What happened? https://t.co/Kcnq5zKxvC

There used to be a Government rule on wedding feasts. The rule was flouted by everybody. The Government was mocked by all. Issue is not whether user can change AC temperature. Issue is the amazing priorities of a Government facing serious challenges. https://t.co/EVHYH5VUu6

Fact is after 'Minimum Government' failed to achieve overvaulting targets of power generation, 'Maximum Governance' is now trying to introduce power rationing in the garb of 'what is good for the human body'. Why not go back to oil lamps? After all, ancient India used oil lamps.

In which case 'Minimum Government' will also decide how many light bulbs you can use, the size of your fridge, whether you can micro your meal twice, whether a mixer-grinder or a washing machine is necessary. And fans will say "We must contribute..." https://t.co/Lsh5qVYnna

@barbarindian I am reading it right. This is like Govt deciding size of portion of food served in restaurants. If you recall another Minister's intervention to erode freedom of choice.

As expected, replies show reading is a severe challenge for insta-defenders of the faith. I have attached the full text of Power Ministry's statement quoting the Power Minister. That statement makes your defence laughable. 'Default' is the new LMAO.

Those giving gyan about 'default setting' and how media has got 'Minimum Government' plans to control AC setting all wrong, try and read (if you can read) full text of Power Ministry's PIB statement. 'Default' is a purple herring. 'Mandatory' is the goal of 'Maximum Governance'. https://t.co/YNrSMkhsq8

Possibilities are many for 'Minimum Government' to take over the lives and freedom of choice of citizens. 'Maximum Governance' could soon mean the state deciding the length of your hair, the size of your loo, the cooking medium you use, how much toothpaste is best for your teeth.

'Minimum Government' will now decide what is the best AC temperature for your body. 'Saffron Terror' babu-turned-Power Minister's bunk is a load of laughing gas. 'Maximum Governance' is morphing into Govt deciding what citizens can eat, drink, wear, read, do with their lives. https://t.co/oy1ZQuWXFE

Just how much of a joke the #Constitution had become after President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed tamely signed on the dotted line legitimising Indira Gandhi's order proclaiming Emergency late night on June 25, 1975, and subsequent ordinances, was best recorded by cartoonist Abu Abraham. https://t.co/JSZpeNK9qp

I have vivid memories of the terrifying fear that gripped people during Emergency. Those of my generation who now squawk about 'democracy in danger' are children of Emergency's collaborators. Those younger than me who screech 'Constitution in danger' have no idea of 'Emergency'. https://t.co/lCE7srVknu

One of the defining slogans of Indira Gandhi's Emergency was: "The Leader is right, Nation's future is bright." And backing the Leader were the Communists. https://t.co/E29nIZk8LQ

As darkness descended at noon and freedom was shackled by the Emergency regime, repression became the norm. Merits of 'one-party system' were debated and the Constitution was rendered meaningless. Democracy became putty in Indira Gandhi's hands -- to be moulded any way she liked. https://t.co/8iV5MrmaD6

On this day in 1975, Indira Gandhi proclaimed #Emergency. Fundamental Rights were suspended. Civil Liberties were scrapped. Opposition was put behind bars. Press censorship was imposed. Democracy was wounded. We lived in fear of the midnight knock. #NeverForgetNeverForgive https://t.co/o1w6q0JnFg
